The carpet capital running club is a member of the road runners club of america ever since its inception in 1982. The carpet capital 10 miler has been run continuously since its inception in 1988 as the basf road race. It is one of the stops in the run see georgia grand prix and is currently the rrca state championship race at the 10 mile distance. In past years it has been the rrca southern read more the carpet capital 10 miler.

As one of the few certified 10 mile courses in the state of georgia it holds almost every state record in all age groups. In 1995 the carpet capital running club took on complete sponsorship of the race and it was renamed the carpet capital 10 miler. Entrants come not only from georgia but from several surrounding states.
