A feature strip is a course of flooring made from a different material that accentuates the border. In hardwood floors a border frames the field of the flooring much like a picture frame enclosing the ends of the rows with flooring that runs perpendicular. Use these lines from the center as the basis for your other layout lines such as where the feature strips and borders should fall. Prices do not include shipping.

My example on the right was actually an existing hardwood floor that had a carpet insert. Overrun hardwood inlays with less than 112 lft available will be sold as a lot. Also if you re concerned about tying the floor colors together you could do a border of the lighter wood around the darker floor or use 2 or all 3 colors in a checkerboard or grid.
